Updating cricut firmware
In addition to the instructions on the download page, Cricut had the following instructions in their weekly newsletter: Before installing the new version, it is necessary to delete your current "Cricut Fonts Metadata.xml" file.
This file is located in your "Cricut Folder" which is in your "Documents Folder".

Just double click on your Cricut Folder and you will see Projects and User Data.
At this point double click on the User Data, then right click on the "Cricut Fonts Metadata.xml" folder, and delete.
You'll need to install the LOCAL version of Craft Room in order to cut. Our guess is that they wouldn't as it would lead to a HUGE amount of complaints!
The first time we ran the new Cricut Craft Room, the program informed us that our Cricut Expression would need to be updated from version 2.34 to 2.43 (our Cricut Personal also required updating) The firmware update took about 15 minutes to complete. To our surprise, both the Cricut Expression and the Cricut Personal still worked with Sure Cuts A Lot version 2.044 despite Provo Craft saying otherwise.
We no longer test Cricut firmware so we cannot confirm that this information is accurate with the latest firmware updates from Cricut. The online version ONLY allows you to design and save files and does not allow you to cut.
When I connect my machine to my computer it says that no Cricut is detected.
